For a more detailed description of the eye conditions below view the videos above.

Myopia (Nearsightedness):
Condition where light focuses in front of the retina inside the eye causing distant objects to be blurry.
Hyperopia (Farsightedness):
Condition where light focuses behind the retina inside the eye causing a greater problem with near activities but can also cause distant objects to be blurry if farsightedness is severe.

Astigmatism:

Condition where light focuses in two different locations inside the eye and can cause both distance near objects to be blurry. This usually is a result from the front of the eye (Cornea) being more oval shaped than round.
Presbyopia:
Condition resulting from a gradual loss of focusing ability with age (usually begins in the early 40's) causing near activities to become blurry.
Cataract:
Condition where the natural lens of the eye becomes cloudy or develops an opacity. This results in reduced vision and an increase in glare, especially at night, that is uncorrectable with eyeglasses or contact lenses. Cataract surgery is one of the most common surgeries performed in the U.S. and is considered a low risk procedure.
Glaucoma:
Condition where is most cases there is a gradual loss of healthy nerve tissue at the retina that if left uncontrolled can lead to irreversible blindness. Pressures inside the eye, family history, race, age, and associated medical conditions are risk factors. Can be treated using simple eye drops or surgical  procedures if needed.
Macular Degeneration:
Condition where the center part of the vision or retina called the macula is disrupted resulting in various degrees of central vision loss. Family history, smoking, excessive ultra-violet light and age are risk factors. Unfortunately there are no treatments at this time to reverse this condition. Eating the right foods and eye vitamins are the preventative measures given.
